How much financial aid will I receive?

Your financial aid award is based on your financial need, which is determined by your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). More than 80 percent of new (U.S. first-year) students entering in fall 2024 qualified for financial aid based on need.

COST OF ATTENDANCE

The Office of Student Financial Services establishes a standard cost of attendance budget to calculate your estimated educational costs. This represents typical costs for students during the nine-month academic year based on anticipated enrollment, dependency status, and living arrangements (on-campus, off-campus or with parents).

What’s Included

Direct costs (items charged by Knox):
- tuition,
- fees, and
- estimated living expenses (on-campus housing and food)
Indirect costs (items not paid to Knox), based on estimates for the Galesburg area:
- books, supplies, course materials, and equipment
- estimated living expenses (off-campus housing and food),
- transportation,
- misc. personal expenses, and
- estimated loan fees

Food estimates are based on 21 meals per week. On-campus food plans vary.
