On the night before the first day of fall term, everyone at Knox stands in a long, twisty line on the South Lawn and, one by one, shakes everyone's hand. It's Pumphandle—democratic, humanizing, time-consuming, and totally worth it.

Sunrises over the prairie. Badminton club (and Film Club and Quiz Bowl). Flunk Day. Prairie Fire. Attending a classmate’s art exhibit. Heated debates and deep I-can’t-believe-it’s-already-midnight conversations with friends. And that’s just a single day.

Residence Halls & More

Knox has nine residence halls, each with their own character and charm.

Most students live in halls arranged by suites, opening onto a shared living space. Upplerclass students can live in apartments and townhouses, and a variety of houses, including themed and cultural houses, also offer living spaces.
