Experiences & Opportunities

1. Use Spanish to explore bigger issues.

Many of our majors—and minors—pursue College Honors or other research and creative projects. Some even present or perform their work at national and international conferences. Here are a few recent projects:

• "Cambios de la identidad como resultado de Study Abroad: Un estudio en la adquisición de hábitos y valores de culturas diferentes." Anna Victoria Roser ‘14 (Honors).

2. Explore the culture on a whole new level.

There are several opportunities for students studying Spanish who wish to study abroad. Volunteer at a hospital or a nonprofit for children in poverty in Oaxaca, Mexico; or study sustainable development in Costa Rica, tropical island biodiversity in Panama, or examine issues of cultural continuity and resource management in Guatemala and Chiapas.

3. Prepare for life after Knox with an internship.

There's no better way to explore the possibilities of life after Knox than internships. Here are a few of our students' recent internships (found with the assistance from the Bastian Family Career Center):
