Classes are suspended on this day so you have time to focus on academic goals and career planning. These sessions have been developed to provide valuable insights and resources for all students. Some departments and programs have mandatory sessions on this day. We have provided guidance regarding the target audience for each session, but you should feel free to attend any session that interests you.
For juniors and seniors. This workshop will provide an overview of what medical schools are looking for, help you assess your own candidacy by identifying your current strengths and areas of opportunity, and help you feel better prepared to start your application in the spring. This workshop will give you time to ask questions and work on an individualized assessment so we recommend you bring a resume draft and your laptop.

For first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This session will introduce students to opportunities in Germany – some of which require little to no language preparation. We will discuss study abroad experiences in Germany and Austria for areas as diverse as environmental studies, music, political science, international relations, business and management, and more. Germany also offers incredible (and well-paid) summer science internships and graduate opportunities abroad. Feel free to come and request information on Fulbright awards to Germany and Austria, research and internships in Germany, and more!

For first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This session will explore the role of literature in developing our understanding of the world around us. A critical analysis of popular texts and a discussion on the idea of windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors will ensue. Students will be invited to analyze children's literature based off of the discussed concepts. It will conclude with a minor presentation about the Golden Apple Foundation and its scholarship programs.

For first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Bringing In The Bystander is a prevention-based program that utilizes an array of learning methods and is based on the concept that all community members have a role to play in ending incivility, harassment, violence, and discrimination. The important role a bystander has in intervention is the basis for this program, has been scientifically evaluated and demonstrated to be effective. This program helps participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to identify and safely intervene before, during, and after instances of risky behaviors.
