Knox's holistic approach to business prepared Amanda for limitless career opportunities.

How did your Knox education help you get where you are now in your career?

At Knox, it was never a question of if you'll get a job after graduation, but a matter of where. Knox provides a tremendous amount of support prior to, during, and after the interviewing process. Because I had a very broad and strong educational foundation, I had many different topics I could touch upon during my interviews and I think that set me apart from my competition. When you work for a global corporation, you have to understand how the business works. It's not just about marketing or finance or customer support. It's about how all of these cross-functional teams work together to achieve the corporate initiatives. Because my Knox education taught me a variety of business principles, I was able to easily and quickly assimilate to this "big picture" corporate culture.

Describe a Knox moment or professor who impacted your life?

Professor John Spittell has structured the business and management curriculum in a manner that provides students a holistic approach to business so that we have limitless career opportunities. Because of him, I had the skills and knowledge to successfully expand my public relations position further to include finance, sales and marketing responsibilities.

Articulate the value of a liberal arts education.

A liberal arts education is invaluable. There is no better feeling than walking across the stage on graduation day knowing you were exposed to every academic department on campus. It allows students to identify their strengths and weaknesses early and discover what they are truly passionate about.
