LJ Johnson was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and attended Dunlap community schools from elementary school through high school. When she is not working on a musical piece for a performance, she is found working on a creative writing piece. She’s excelled academically before and during Knox, maintaining the Honor Roll and being placed on the Dean’s List. She achieved a lot musically as well, performing in the IMEA All-State Honor Choir her senior year, winning the 2021 Young Artist Competition, and making into KCC and Chamber Singers here at Knox. Education has always been an interest of hers, hoping to one day teach future students the importance and fun found in reading and writing.
Giselle Bautista is a first-generation Latina student majoring in elementary education with a double minor in psychology and Japanese. She is in her my senior year at Knox and will be graduating this spring. She is aspiring to be an elementary school teacher, particularly an ESL (English Second Language) or Spanish bilingual teacher. As a past ESL student myself, she is hoping to work in underprivileged and underserved communities that have a large English learner population. She also hopes to create representation in the classroom for minority students as well.
Miranda Zuckerman is senior majoring in psychology and minoring in math and Japanese. She is from St. Louis, Missouri. She works as a math and psychology tutor for the CTL. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games with friends and hanging out with her dog Argentina. Miranda's favorite board game is Red Dragon Inn. Argentina loves walking around campus and meeting lots of people. After graduation, she plans to become an educational psychologist and improve the world of academic accommodations. Her favorite movie is The Princess Bride and her favorite holiday is Halloween.
Marina Hope is a senior at Knox College, majoring in Spanish with minors in Psychology and Dance Studies. She is originally from Charleston, SC but attended highschool in Knoxville, IL where she graduated valedictorian before coming to Knox College. Her academic work focuses on an interconnection between psychology, language, and movement specifically in regards to healing, with her Spanish senior research investigating the use of poetry as medicine in the Mapuche community and her dance capstone project exploring healing of generational trauma through dance and community. At Knox, Marina is involved with the dance department, Terpsichore Dance Collective, and sustainability and in her free time plays music at local establishments and events in her band Mockingbird. After graduation, Marina hopes to be involved in the realm of public health and counseling, especially for the queer community, incorporating elements of language and movement to assist in the process of healing.
Natalie O’Brien, age 20, is a current sophomore at Knox College majoring in Elementary Education. She was born in Chicago, IL in 2002, and grew up in the surrounding suburb of La Grange, IL. Her other interests include creative writing and history. She plans on becoming a teacher after graduation."
Eva Fuller (she/her) is a senior double majoring in Secondary Education and English Literature. On campus, she leads Book Club, is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, and works at the ITS Helpdesk in addition to being a Writing Tutor. During her time at Knox, she's written countless essays and worked on a creative project creating and translating children's stories into Chinese. She's worked with middle school students in Illinois and Massachusetts and plans to teach middle school and early high school after completing her undergrad, with the eventual goal of pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Policy. Don't be afraid to say hi to her on campus - she's always walking around with her backpack unzipped.
Andrew Tucker is an undergrad at Knox College
studying psychology and anthropology. He finds other people fascinating, as most in our line of work do, and he looks forward to future endeavors furthering his understanding of what makes humans tick.
