The Venture Boldly campaign made its official stop in St. Louis at The Thaxton Club, an Art Deco-inspired club, on Tuesday, December 17. Knox alumni, parents, and friends gathered to learn more about Knox’s first comprehensive campaign in more than 20 years and to reconnect with members of the Knox community.
Rose Dunphy McAndrew ’02, St. Louis Knox Club leader, welcomed attendees to the event and introduced Provost & Dean of the College Michael Schenieder, who spoke about the impact of Knox’s unique immersive programs. “I’ve stayed at Knox as a faculty member and administrator for more than 30 years because I was able to push the boundaries of the Knox educational experience, test new ideas, and innovate and create new programs like an immersion term focused on Japan,” said Provost Schneider. “The idea behind an immersive experience is that what we teach in the classroom should have legs outside of the classroom, and we’ve found that our immersive experiences advance learning more than every education tool we have at Knox.”
President C. Andrew McGadney closed out the presentation by sharing a vision for the College’s future growth–the foundation for the Venture Boldly Campaign. “Our comprehensive campaign allows us to dream big and think boldly," President McGadney shared. "Three ways we can make our great College even better is to drive strategic growth, enrich the student experience, and invest in our community. I encourage all of you to join me as we Venture Boldly for Knox.”
The evening closed with the traditional singing of the Knox hymn, "Hail to Alma Mater” followed by time spent visiting with friends. See more photos on the Knox College Flickr.
This was the campaign’s last stop before the New Year. Venture Boldly will hit the road again in January with a stop in Atlanta.
