Accordingly, Knox College will not tolerate any acts of sex discrimination or sexual harassment.

Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment (PDF)

Knox has established a Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment that articulates the College's set of behavioral standards, common understandings of definitions and key concepts, and descriptions of prohibited conduct. This policy outlines the procedural steps the College will take in response to allegations of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or any other form of unlawful discrimination.

Knox College is committed to the prompt and equitable resolution of all alleged or suspected violations of the Policy about which the College knows, or reasonably should know, and to treating all individuals equitably, with respect and sensitivity.

Furthermore, the College is committed to complying with the requirements of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the U.S. Department of Education’s regulations implementing Title IX, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, and the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. The College is also committed to complying with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Illinois Human Rights Act, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in employment (Title VII and IHRA) and in higher education and places of public accommodation (IHRA).

Pregnancy Modifications Policy

The College is committed to providing all students and employees with the opportunity to pursue and attain their individual goals as it relates to the College’s admissions, employment, and educational programs or activities. This commitment includes the College’s students and employees who are pregnant, parenting, or experiencing pregnancy related conditions. The College prohibits differential treatment or discrimination against students and employees based on the student or employee’s current, potential, or past parental, family, marital status, or pregnancy or related condition.
