Lisa received her B.A. in English and a Master of Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago. As director, Lisa manages funding for student research and creative programs across the College, as well as all aspects of advising, shadowing, and application support for students who wish to pursue a career in the health professions after Knox. Lisa is a big believer in exploration and helping students find their passion in terms of future studies and careers. Fun fact: Lisa lives on a small farm outside of town with her husband and two kids, where they spend (almost all of) their free time gardening.
Assistant Director, Vovis Center for Research and Advanced Study and Health Professions Advising
Liz received her B.A. in comparative cultural studies from Ohio State University. Liz is the newest member of the Vovis Center team and brings experience as a small business owner and visual artist to her role at Knox. As assistant director, she will be working primarily with first- and second-year pre-health advising, pre-health shadowing opportunities, and signature Vovis programs and events such as the Knox Summer Scholars program and HORIZONS.
Administrative Assistant, Gerald and Carol Vovis Center for Research and Advanced Study and Health Professions Advising
The Gerald and Carol Vovis Center for Research and Advanced Study and Health Professions Advising student employees are leaders within the Knox Community who support the day-to-day operations of the office. Student employees work in areas such as communications, workshops and programs, and data management and assessment.
Pre-Health Student Assistant
Caroline Tieman (she/her) class of 2025, is a pre-med student from Elgin, IL. She is majoring in biology and minoring in anthropology/sociology. Caroline is also a disability support services peer educator, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and plays trombone in the Knox Brass Ensemble.
Pre-health Student Assistant
Zoe Pav (she/her), class of 2026, is a pre-PA student from Washington D.C. She is majoring in biochemistry and minoring in political science and chemistry. Zoe is also on the Knox College women's volleyball team, an EMT, and a tutor in SMC Red Room.
Research and Data Analysis Student Assistant
Elena King (she/her), class of 2027, is from Houston, TX. She is a political science major with a double minor in public policy and Spanish. You can find her singing in the Knox College Choir, running social media for the Pre-Law Club, or spending time with her siblings at the Kappa Kappa Gamma House.
