While you're a student at Knox, you are permitted to work on-campus from the day your program begins until you graduate. Many international students hold on-campus jobs at Knox.
To find a job, begin by using Handshake to search and apply for jobs. Students are also encouraged to ask departments or offices for whom they're interested in working whether any jobs are available. Please note that some jobs posted on the Job Bank take place off-campus, and visa regulations do not permit F-1 students to hold those jobs.
During academic terms, students can work up to 15 hours per week on-campus. During summer break, you can work full-time, up to 40 hours per week.
Once you begin working, you'll need to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). You should go to the Business Office to complete payroll information. The Office of International Student Services can then assist you with your SSN application.

At Knox, we use two different financial systems - ADP and BILL.com. These are systems that Knox will use to pay you for work on campus, reimburse you for expenses, pay stipends and participation fees, and even process academic awards. In order for you to receive payment or reimbursement from Knox, you will need to complete your profiles and enter banking information in these systems:
ADP is the payroll system for the College. To work on campus, you will need to be fully enrolled in ADP and provide copies of key documents to the payroll office before you can begin working on campus. Please note the following:
BILL.com is the College’s primary payment system for all non-payroll items. You will receive an email that will ask you to set up an account to connect with Knox College. I highly recommend that you enroll in electronic payments and connect with the College as quickly as possible. Please note the following:
Please note that when you log into either of these systems, they will both display your full legal name that we have on file for you.
