In response to multiple requests for them -- and because the library remains closed for the time being -- Seymour Library has licensed multiple e-book copies of How to Be an Anti-Racist and White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism

To access the books, just click on either title to be taken to its e-book "title page" and table of contents. Use the table of contents to navigate and read the book.

If you’re accessing from off campus, you will be prompted to authenticate as a remote user.  To do this :

  • Enter your Knox username (the part of your email before the @ sign.
  • Enter the Knox password you use for email or My.Knox

You can help us make our copies of these books as accessible to as many readers as possible by

  • Closing the book and exiting the e-book window when you're not reading it so that your copy is available for someone else.
  • Reading online; there is no chapter download option
  • Avoiding use of the "Full Download" or "EPUB Full Text" options. These do not result in a PDF download, and they do require special accounts.
  • Trying again if you do get a "This book is in Use message"

Based on our experience with other digital publications, our ten copies of White Fragility and five copies of How to be an Anti-Racist should be adequate, but we'll be monitoring the traffic and can add more copies if we need to.  Feel free to share these links and this message with anyone in our Knox community with My.Knox access.
