Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

How many advisees will I have?

Each Transition Team member will serve as the principal advisor for about 30 students. Members may occasionally serve as impromptu advisors when other transition team members are unavailable.

How many hours per week will be required in Winter/Spring and Summer?

In Winter and Spring, there will be 3-4 organizational meetings and advising training sessions specific to summer 2025 advising. In addition, there will be Jenzabar One training and feedback sessions. The most intensive period of work will be the June advising period beginning June 18 through the closeout period until about July 14. During the go-dark period and the remainder of the summer, advising responsibilities will be episodic, providing responses to advising questions and addressing distinctive advising issues as they emerge.

I will be out of the country the month of July 2025. Can I still serve as a Transition Team member?

Availability throughout the summer of 2025 is required for all Transition Team members. While Transition Term members will be able to take vacations during the summer, vacations must be coordinated to ensure complete coverage of the summer of 2025 through early September.

Can I receive an additional stipend instead of the course release?

No. An unused course release carries no cash value and will not be converted into a cash payment.
