Hard Knox Cafe

The Hard Knox Café is the all-you-care-to-eat café with menus that change daily in Seymour Union. In the center of the café sits an expansive salad bar with adjacent grill, comfort, and globally inspired stations. The café has something for everyone.

In response to Covid-19 guidelines, all food and beverages will be served with our enhanced safety protocols. All food can now be packaged for carry out. Physical distanced seating is available for dine-in seating in Hard Knox, Oak Room, Skylight Room, and Lincoln Room and all tables and chairs are sanitized after each use.

Monday - Friday:
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:
Brunch: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The Gizmo (Short order restaurant)

The historic Gizmo, our campus short-order restaurant, was named in the late 1940s by students who were World War II veterans, and remains a popular gathering place for students, faculty, and staff. The Gizmo Patio, once used as an outdoor skating rink, was transformed into brick patio, and furnished with chairs and tables for outdoor seating. The menu features fast-casual favorites such as cheeseburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, all-day breakfast burritos, and French fries, as well as a daily special and a selection of grab n’ go items.

Gales Grounds Coffee

Located in Post Hall next to the C-Store, Gale’s Grounds brews Segafredo Zanetti coffee beans made with 100% arabica beans. It offers a wide variety of items based on the customized needs of the college community. Traditional items are available such as Drip Coffee, Hot and Iced Latte or Cappuccino, Caramel Macchiato, Cafe Mocha, White Chocolate Mocha, Nitro Cold Brew, Variety of Flavoured Energy Drinks, Muffins, and Cookies. The Jaimie Energy Buzz Drink is New, It is a Blue raspberry and strawberry energy drink made with zero sugar.

The Outpost (Convenience Store)

Our campus convenience store is open seven days a week while classes are in session and is centrally located in Post Hall Lobby. The store offers a wide variety of items based on customized needs of the college community. Traditional convenience store items such as beverages, snack items, grocery staples, toiletries, and general merchandise are offered along with grab n’ go dining options. A separate exit from the store is available for additional distancing safety protocols.

The Campus Store (Convenience Store)

The Campus Store is open Monday through Friday and is conveniently located on the lower level of Seymour Union and can be accessed near the North entrance to the building. The store offers a wide variety of items based on customized needs of the college community. In addition to Knox College apparel and studying essentials, the store offers a selection of grab n’ go items, groceries, snacks, beverages, and toiletries.
