We encourage students, faculty, staff, and alumni to take advantage of social media platforms to stay connected. The information and guidelines on these pages help to establish procedures for using and maintaining various social channels to engage with the Knox community and external audiences. As online interactions are becoming as prevalent as face-to-face interactions, it is equally important to ensure they are marked by the same level of respect and professionalism as expected in the Knox community.
Let us know if you are thinking about starting a social media account or if you want social media support. We can help you strategize and get your message to the audience you are targeting. When coming in to meet us, be sure that you have these questions in mind:
One of the first things you should do is follow the official Knox College account for the social media platforms you use. We have official accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. We do our best to follow all Knox-related social media accounts so that we can see posts and share them with our wider audience.
An even better way to ensure we see your post is to tag us! If we are tagged, we get a notification letting us know that someone has used our username in a post. From there, we can easily share messages that we think our audience will be interested in.
Another way to get noticed is through proper hashtag use. Tagging your posts with the right hashtag can also help ensure that we see your message and share it through our channels. Here are some of our most commonly used hashtags:
#KnoxCollege
#KnoxProud
#PrairieFirePride
#GoFire
#KnoxPix
#KnoxHC
#KnoxGrad
#FlunkDay
#KnoxNSO
Facebook
