What is your hometown?
Columbia, Missouri
What is your favorite thing about being a tutor?
I really enjoy helping people make sense of concepts that were giving them trouble, and seeing all the different ways that people connect concepts to other ideas and their own experiences.
What is your favorite color?
Purple.
Where is your favorite place to study?
My favorite place to study alone is on the third floor of Seymour library. My favorite place to study as a group is either Red Room, first floor of Seymour library, or on picnic blankets outside.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is either Seymour Library or the Classics Lounge--GDH 208
Are you involved in any campus organizations?
I'm the President of Classics Club (alternatively one of the Consuls), I'm heavily involved in running Book House, I'm the Non-Fiction editor for Catch, and I handle PR and some secretarial things for Cellar Door.
What are your hobbies?
In my free time I like to read (especially fantasy, mystery, and books based off Greek/Roman mythology), crochet, knit, do logic puzzles, bake, and write postcards to my friends and family.
Where is your favorite place to eat in Galesburg?
My favorite restaurant in Galesburg is Koreana.
Do you have any pets?
I don't currently have any pets but I am definitely a cat person and I haven't met a cat that disliked me.
What do you do to relax?
When I need to relax I tend to either make myself a cup of tea or hot chocolate and settle down for a few hours with a good book or I spend a few hours in the kitchen with earbuds in and a recipe that takes some concentration to make perfectly.
Tell us about your favorite Knox memory.
Some of my favorite memories at Knox come from taking walks around campus with one of my friends. Knox feels like a completely different place at night--it's so peaceful!
Share something that makes you unique.
I like to climb on things and sit in windowsills. I also work at a bookshop in my hometown--Skylark Bookshop--and, no, it isn't technically named after me!
