Men's and Women's Soccer Teams Win Midwest Conference Tournaments

The Prairie Fire men’s soccer team lost in overtime, 1-0, to Luther on Saturday, which concludes the team’s 2018 season.

The Prairie Fire women's soccer team lost, 1-0, to St. Thomas (Minnesota) on Saturday, bringing Knox's 2018 season to an end.

The Prairie Fire women's and men's soccer teams are making Knox College history as both teams won their Midwest Conference Tournaments on Saturday, November 3, qualifying for their respective NCAA Soccer Championships.

The Prairie Fire women's soccer team will travel to the University of Wisconsin La Crosse to battle St. Thomas (Minnesota) at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, November 10. The winner will advance to the second round game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 11. 

The Prairie Fire men's soccer team will take on Luther College in the first round at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, on Saturday, November 10, at 3 p.m. CST. The winner will advance to the second round game at 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 11.

Women's Soccer Wins Third Straight MWC Tournament

For the Prairie Fire women (13-4-2), this is their third straight Midwest Conference Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Championship, after defeating St. Norbert 2-1 on Prats Field on November 3.

"It's an incredible feat from an incredible group of women," said head coach Chris Haught-Thompson. "They worked so hard this weekend."

Men's Soccer Stuns St. Norbert for MWC Tournament Victory

In their sixth straight appearance in the Midwest Conference Tournament, the Prairie Fire men's soccer team (16-4-1) defeated St. Norbert in De Pere, Wisconsin, to advance to their first ever NCAA Championship. It was St. Norbert's first loss of the season.

"This is an amazing group of guys," said head coach Brian O'Connor. "St. Norbert is one of the best teams in the country and to get a win there is a testament to our senior leaders. I'm so happy for them. This team is special and are relishing the opportunity to show why in the NCAA Tourney."
