Phi Beta Kappa Inducts Graduating Seniors at Knox College
Nation's oldest, most prestigious scholastic honor society
The Knox College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious scholastic honorary society, welcomed 33 graduating seniors and three juniors, in its 101st formal induction ceremony on June 2, 2018.
The Phi Beta Kappa Chapter at Knox College was founded in 1916. Delta Chapter, the fourth in Illinois, was the first chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in a liberal arts college in the state. The chapter held its first formal induction ceremony in 1917 and celebrated its 100th induction in 2017.
Although most Phi Beta Kappa inductees are graduating seniors, a select number of juniors are also elected annually.
