Knox in New York Takes Students to Museums, Galleries

On-campus class enhanced with travel to resources, career networking

Knox in New York is a distinctive educational experience that features an on-campus course during the fall term that combines studio art and art history, enhanced by travel over winter break to New York for tours of museums, work at New York Studio School, career networking with alumni successful in the art world. This year's travel component of Knox in New York in December 2013 was chronicled by student photographer Jiaqi Li.

Knox students in the New York Studio School. Building on a relationship that dates back nearly two decades and forged initially between Knox faculty and noted artist Mercedes Matter, Knox in New York provides students the opportunity to work for several days at the New York Studio School. After students return to the Knox campus, they complete bodies of work based on their experiences in New York.

Knox in New York includes networking sessions with alumni -- successful, working artists familiar with art careers and the art market.
