Knox College International Fair 2013

Parade of Flags from International Fair 2012

Knox College students from more than 50 countries will showcase food, culture and entertainment from around the world at the 32nd annual International Fair, Saturday, January 26, 2013 on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois. With 9% of the student body from outside the U.S., Knox has been ranked 23rd in the country for international diversity by US News & World Report.

Highlights of the Fair will include:

  • International Buffet Lunch ~ Foods from a dozen countries and cultures, prepared and served by students, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Oak Room, Seymour Union. Tickets are $6 per person.
  • Cultural and Educational Booths ~ From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Lobby. Admission is free.
  • International Student Talent Show and Parade of Flags ~ From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Admission is free.

International Fair is sponsored by the Knox College International Club, one of the College's largest student organizations. Proceeds from sale of souvenir t-shirts at this year's fair will be donated to Visualiza, a non-profit organization that provides cataract surgery to low-income residents of Guatemala. A Knox student who has worked at Visualiza, Thomas Courtright of Moshi, Tanzania, will also be raising money for Visualiza by selling bracelets at the fair.
