Supporters of Knox College athletics hit the links on June 14, 2024, at the annual K Club Golf Outing at Soangetaha Country Club. This event has become a favorite tradition, offering a blend of friendly competition and the opportunity to give back to Knox's student-athletes, coaching staff, and the Athletics program.

The day began with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Teams gathered for a group photo and a putting contest before teeing off. The 18-hole scramble featured a shotgun start format, ensuring a lively and dynamic day on the course. Among the participants were numerous football alumni who were in town for the Knox football conference. 

Many alumni mark the event as a yearly opportunity to reconnect. Matt Briggs '06 played football and baseball while attending Knox and shared that meeting up with old teammates while supporting the College is a highlight of his year. “It’s fun to be out here with guys you played with, but also coaches you played with. It’s a great event,” Briggs added. 

For former Knox athletic director Harley Knosher, the outing is a must-attend event. Each year, Knosher says he looks forward to catching up with many people from his many years at Knox. “We all have experiences to share with each other that in some way were life-changing,” Knosher added. 

A highlight of the event was the auction of Knosher, whose bidding to play alongside him reached an impressive $5,000. In total, more than  $40,000 was raised by nearly 80 golfers during the outing. This substantial amount will significantly benefit Knox athletics.

Knox Men’s Golf Coach Brady Kreiter was in attendance for the first time and was thrilled to see the high turnout. For Kreiter, this event symbolized the dedication the community shares for Knox. 

“From the moment I started at Knox, I could feel that sense of community support,” he said. 

The K Club, the official booster club of Knox College Athletics, played a crucial role in organizing the event. Their ongoing efforts help build unforgettable experiences for student-athletes, ensuring the continued success and growth of Knox’s athletic programs.
