Eric Newnham '90 appears as an extra in the Hollywood film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and he describes it has having been "a great experience."
Newnham, a member of the City Council in Beloit, Wisconsin, was interviewed about his Transformers role in the Beloit Daily News. He was among 25 men and 25 women chosen for roles as extras.
"I'm thrilled to be a tiny piece of this amazing production," Newnham told the Daily News. He shared the movie set with numerous other actors, including film stars Shia LeBeouf and Patrick Dempsey.
Newnham studied theatre while attending Knox College, and he participated in Knox's 1988 Repertory Theatre Term, a unique program in which students collaborate with faculty members to research, design, construct, rehearse and perform two full-length plays. The 1988 productions were Dark of the Moon and The Good Woman of Setzuan.
