Howard Wilson came to Knox College in 1946 to teach English. His collection of prints reflects his appreciation of beauty and attention to detail.
Howard A. Wilson (1913-1991) was born in New Harmony, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University (1935), his M.A. from State College of Washington (1937) and his PhD. from the University of Wisconsin (1941). His unique viewpoint and high standards left a lasting impression with decades of students. Works by Mary Cassatt, James Whistler, Louis-Auguste Lepere, Muirhead Bone and Renoir, as well as a number of Knox College students comprise the collection.
