Knox Alumni Respond to COVID-19
Kevin Moore ’02 is the personnel and labor administrator for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), the state agency responsible for coordinating the State of Illinois's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. “My role has been to support our dedicated employees with emergency hires and additional personnel while also making sure our routine HR functions continue so that my colleagues can focus on the work that needs to be done and not have to worry about payroll, insurance, etc. I am so proud to work with the emergency management professionals at IEMA.”
Steve Suskin ’72 is director of development for the Afya Foundation in New York, which helps fulfill global health shortages by providing surplus medical supplies to underserved health systems around the world. “Our mission has pivoted from international medical relief to providing desperately needed medical supplies to hospitals, federally qualified health centers, and organizations which serve the elderly. We are sorting, boxing and shipping thousands of pounds every day throughout the N.Y. area.”
William Budding ’13 is trying to keep his colleagues’ spirits up by sharing jokes as they work remotely. Additionally, he’s keeping spirits up through music: “As a choir singer, my choir in Boston has organized online sing-a-longs so that we can stay connected through music.”
Mark ’86 and Kathryn Morgan Leider ’85, who operate Leider Greenhouses in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, donated hundreds of Easter lilies to Rush University Medical Center to celebrate the season. They're beautiful!
