The Knox-Galesburg Symphony brings metropolitan-level performance standards, world-class artists, and a plentiful spectrum of education opportunities for all ages in Galesburg and surrounding communities. We are proud of be representatives of both Knox College and the City of Galesburg while engaging our audiences with innovative programming that enliven our community and enriches West Central Illinois.

Among its many national, state, and local accolades, the outstanding legacy of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony has been consistently recognized by the Illinois Council of Orchestras 18 times in 10 different categories including the prestigious Illinois Conductor of the Year three times to Dr. Bruce Polay, as well as the Illinois Cultural Leadership Award, and Illinois Programming of the Year Award. The KGS is a three time recipient of the Illinois Orchestra of the Year Award and most recently second time recipient of the Illinois Community Relations of the Year Award.
