The oldest sorority still on campus, the Illinois Beta-Delta Chapter was founded in 1872 at Lombard College and in 1884 at Knox. As Lombard College collapsed in the Great Depression, the Beta and Delta Chapters were combined. Pi Phi focuses on a flourishing sisterhood and a love for literacy. They have annual philanthropy events like their Dr. Seuss Read-a-thon. They, a non-residential organization, use their bungalow, or "the bung," for meetings and sisterhood activities. It's located at 396 South Academy Street.
