Summary:
Americans now spend as much as 90% of our time indoors within our built environment including homes, workplaces, and transportation systems. Our physical infrastructure significantly impacts our health, and communities of color face disproportionately high levels of environmental contamination as a direct result of systemic racist policies. Danika will describe three examples of how this contamination still pervades in the built environment through an environmental justice lens: childhood lead poisoning, indoor air quality, and vapor intrusion.
