4:15 pm Round Room, CFA Jim Shrosbree is Professor of Art at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa. His work has been widely exhibited including solo exhibits at Spellerberg Projects (Texas), Paul Kotula Projects (Detroit),The Des Moines Art Center, Space Gallery (Chicago) and Revolution (NY), and is represented in public collections such as the Detroit Institute of Art, Des Moines Art Center, Los Angeles County Museum, Edythe and Ely Broad Museum, University of Iowa Museum of Art and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art. Shrosbree has been a visiting artist at many universities and institutions including Cranbrook Academy of Art, UC Davis, Bard College, Drake University, University of Washington, Penn State University, Alberta College of Art, and the University of Iowa. Shrosbree has been awarded fellowship residencies at Yaddo (NY), The MacDowell Art Colony (NH), and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, (ME) and has been awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts/Idaho Arts and Humanities Commission, Iowa Arts Council, Pollock-Krasner Foundation as well as a Fellowship from National Endowment for the Arts (Midwest) and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. Shrosbree received his MFA in ceramics from the University of Montana (Missoula). The Department of Art and Art History is delighted that Jim Shrosbree will be the Knox College Artist in Residence during the spring of 2025. The Knox College Artist in Residence program is supported by the generosity of Blick Art Materials.
