Message from Alumni Council

Hello Alumni and Friends of the College,

Hopefully many of you are enjoying Spring and the warm weather! The Alumni Council met on campus (with some Zoom attendees) in early May and had a productive meeting. Members approved the selection of Knox Service Award winners and continued to discuss meaningful opportunities for alumni to interact with the College. The Alumni Council, in collaboration with the Office of College Engagement, also hosted a fun senior send-off event for graduating seniors. 

Speaking of seniors, on behalf of the Alumni Council, congratulations on graduating and welcome to the Knox College alumni community! As your time as students ends, I encourage you to stay connected to Knox as you head off into the world. Wherever you find yourself, check in to see if there is a Knox Club in your city and connect with fellow alumni who are happy to help you. Our Knox Clubs always host fun activities and help you stay in touch with the College to learn more about what is happening on campus. 

Finally, my term as Alumni Council Chair will be ending at the end of June. It has been an honor to serve as Chair the last two years, and I am proud to serve with a group of alumni that cares for the College. Tom Bazan ’05 will be the incoming Chair of the Council and will continue the work of making the Council more impactful for Alumni and the College.

Hello Alumni and Friends of the College,

I am Maurice Harris '08, chair of the Knox College Alumni Council. The Alumni Council is the representative body of the Alumni Association, which works with the College in its relations with alumni and to build enthusiasm and pride in the College. The Alumni Council is made up of Knox Club representatives, at-large members, the Knox senior class president, and the Knox Ambassador president. Our mission is to lead the Alumni Association by helping create lifelong connections to the College among alumni through opportunities for meaningful engagement that increase awareness, pride, volunteer involvement, and philanthropic commitment to Knox.

One way the Alumni Council connects with alumni is through our Knox Clubs. Knox Clubs are led by alumni who host events throughout the year to network and to inform what is occurring on campus. The Alumni Council also assists the Alumni Engagement office on major events such as Homecoming or #KnoxProud Day.

As a council we love to receive ideas, feedback, and comments on how we can better serve our fellow alumni and better connect you to Knox. Please reach out to our Alumni staff at engage@knox.edu to give ideas or to get involved!
