Hello! My name is AJ Vasquez. I'd love to talk with you about my Knox experience.
My favorite spot on campus:
My favorite place on campus is the observatory on top of SMC. I got the chance to go up there for one of my classes and it was just an overall awesome experience.
Professor a new student should absolutely take a class with:
Joel Estes. He is a great professor who has such a strong and passionate love for what he teaches.
The Knox class I never expected to love:
School and Society. At first I was reluctant to take the class but ended up doing so because my friend was going to be the TA. The content was so interesting and my professor was so engaging that I looked forward to attending class every day.
Best thing I've done since coming to Knox:
Meeting tons of great people from all over the world.
Most challenging class:
Astronomy. Science is not my strong suit, but I found this class very interesting (and difficult). It challenged me to seek help from my peers and reaffirmed to me that it is okay to ask for help.
Surprisingly cool things about Galesburg?
There are tons of great restaurants nearby the school and some of them have been around for nearly 100 years.
The last thing I said "yes" to:
Going to one of the soccer team's games!
