2 East South Street
Galesburg, IL 61401-4999
The Green Oaks research center is home to a fully equipped classroom, computer lab, a library of several hundred volumes, study spaces, double-occupancy dorm rooms (similar to those on the main campus), two bathrooms with showers, and full cooking, dining, laundry, and other accommodations. The building is heated and telephone, Internet, and postal services are all readily available. One or more college vehicles are also kept on the grounds for program use. Smoking is prohibited in the building for safety and health concerns.
At least two members of the program faculty are also on site at any given time throughout the term. One serves as the program director and resides in separate quarters from students near the research center. The director oversees daily program activities, monitors safety and student life issues, and shares in the daily life of the group. Other faculty are on site several days per week, which includes some overnight stays, teaching classes, and participating in various activities. To assist the director with student life, daily needs, and organizational tasks, a post-baccalaureate Program Assistant, who is typically an alumnus of the Green Oaks Term, also lives on site.
