Clinical Psychology Term students are in the same setting as clinical psychologists, counselors, and social workers. They work with individuals with chronic mental illness, those with developmental disabilities, families and children experiencing a variety of difficulties in adjustment, and women and children who are survivors of domestic abuse.

During the term, students completely immerse themselves in clinical and counseling psychology by taking two clinically-focused courses while completing a clinical psychology internship at the same time. Locations where students may intern include (availability varies by year):

  • Center for Youth and Family Solutions
  • Galesburg Rescue Mission
  • Heartland Healthcare Center
  • KCCDD
  • Lutheran Social Services
  • Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center
  • Salvation Army
  • St. Mary's Square Living Center
  • Seminary Manor
  • The Consultants
  • Cottage Hospital Older Adult Behavioral Health
  • Grounded Perspectives

For students considering careers in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or social work, there is no better way to explore the possibilities of life after Knox than to immerse yourself in the experience.
