General Interests
Bram is a conductor particularly passionate about music that weaves together many people and many colors at a grand scale. He is the Director of Choral Activities and of Music Education at Knox, and is the founding director of the Knox College Players, an instrumental ensemble that performs regularly with the college's flagship choir. Bram is a specialist in musical rhetoric, a Baroque tool-kit for emotive and dramatic performance, and in post-classical music, a a practical method to dismantle classical music's privilege barriers. Before coming to Knox, Bram served as the sole music faculty at The Watkinson School in Hartford, Connecticut, and as a conducting apprentice to Kent Tritle. He is a proud member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, where he has built and repaired trail structures in New Hampshire's Great Gulf Wilderness, and when not at the podium he pursues interests in heirloom apples, typographic ornamentation, and civic design.
