Planet Green Recognizes Knox College's Sustainability Efforts

Planet Green Program Wa$tedThe Planet Green cable television network is recognizing Knox College for its sustainability practices by posting a new video on its website.

The video is called "Eco-Tours: Planet Green Tours Eco-Conscious Knox College," and it features Holter Graham, co-host of the "Wa$ted" TV program.

On Sept. 21, 2009, Graham gave a talk at Knox on "My Planet, My Passion," in which he spoke about sustainable living practices. The lecture was part of the "EquiKnox" series of events sponsored by Knox's Presidential Task Force on Sustainability. While at Knox, Graham also conducted an "eco-walk-through" of some campus buildings.

Among the people Graham interviewed were Knox President Roger Taylor, Director of Dining Services Helmut Mayer, and students Annika Paulsen, Andrew Shule, Fayne Lawson, and Alex Zeich.

Graham praised the college for using "clamshells" -- recyclable food containers -- and for its other sustainability initiatives. He said: "Knox College has dedicated itself to teaching and training the next generation of leaders to be stewards of our planet."
