Inside the Library

The Seymour Library is a central part of Knox College student life. The Library is a member of the RAILS Library System and a governing member of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) and is an active participant in interlibrary loan programs serving public, school, and academic libraries throughout Illinois. The Knox College Library is also a member of the Center for Research Libraries.

The Amott Science Commons

Located at the heart of the Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center, the Amott Science Commons is a modern, interdisciplinary space designed to inspire collaboration and innovation, while simultaneously supporting the academic and creative needs of the Knox College community. The space features reservable conference rooms, study areas for individuals and groups, high-tech design and prototyping computer workstations, an immersive classroom, the Makerspace Hub, and the Makerspace Network Resource Desk. The Amott Science Commons is more than just a workspace—it's a gateway to Knox College’s vast network of academic and creative resources.
