Prairie Fire Athletic's Gets a New Look on the Web
November 2, 2011, will mark a new era in Knox athletics. Thanks to contributions by K Club members, a new Prairie Fire Web site will give fans and prospective student-athletes a more dynamic and graphically attractive presence on the Web. The new Web site won't launch until Wednesday, but as a K Club member, you can get a sneak preview by going to prairiefire.knox.edu to see what the new athletic site has to offer. Read about the new home of the Prairie Fire.

Coach's Corner
Dear K Club Members,
Let me be the first thank you for your continued support. The things that we have been able to accomplish with the club have been great to watch. From the online athletic store to the new online home of Prairie Fire athletics, we are going in a direction that we as coaches are excited about. I look forward to the Club being involved more with not only helping women's basketball, but the rest of the Prairie Fire athletics department.
As you may know, we are in the midst of preseason practice, and the team is looking good. With the help of our new assistant coach, Nicole Kroot, we began implementing "The System." This is the same offense that Grinnell College's men's basketball team uses. I think it will give us a great opportunity to showcase the talent of our new and returning student-athletes.
Once all the team comes together, we will have a total of 17 members (the most since I have been the head coach here). The team will be led by our four seniors: Krystyna Williams (Evanston, IL); Lynn Mueller (Woodridge, IL); Steph Nunez (Mokena, IL); and Abby Owens (Grinnell, IA.). We also have eight newcomers to the team, two of which are second year members of the women's soccer team. I feel this mix of old and new should make for a very great year.
The season kicks off November 15 at 7:00 pm against future conference member Cornell College. Being a Rams alum makes this game even more special.
I hope that you will use the new site to keep current with all that is happening not only with women's basketball, but also with Prairie Fire athletics.
Also, don't hesitate or stop by one of our games and see what Prairie Fire Women’s Basketball is all about (see our current schedule). I know you won’t be disappointed. GO PRAIRIE FIRE!
